Good Points
Seems well constructed.
Gear change a marvel (although occasionally 'slipping' can happen)
Ideally suited for commuting.
Bad Points
Original (factory) gear set-up was wrong - 'fifth' gear turned out to be fourth, etc. This was surprising as the gear set-up for the Shimano Nexus 8 gears is a no brainer.
Front brake seems less powerful than the rear and has 'faded' quicker in use (needs to be re-adjusted).
Don't know why the spokes were painted black - they are supposed to be made from stainless steel!
As a 'low maintenance' bike, a chain guard would have been nice.
Shimano Nexus gear system a bit of a worry when it comes to servicing.
Colour scheme a bit bland - grey and black. I had to to attach luminescent strips to the bike to make it more visible in the winter!
General Comments
I go to work on my Subway 8 five days a week (approx. 40 miles a week) and haven't experienced any real problems since buying it back in August 2007.
A genuinely reliable 2 wheeled form of transport!
