“I fancied an Aston Martin DB7 whilst on my search for...”

written by Petergeo on 19/12/2006

Good Points
I bought this late 99 / 2000 body S-Class 500L after nearly 12 months of searching - it has 44,000 on the clock, full MBSH and had been chauffeur driven. It is an excellent car, very comfortable, smooth but with fantastic performance from its 400 bhp engine.

Bad Points
None to report other than the minor fact that this is a big car and in one town if your wheels are over the parking bay white lines they book you for parking.
Good and Bad is the economy: light footed and on the motorway it has given me an average 37mpg but clicking over to manual and having a heavy foot can bring this down to as low as 12mpg. The car just feels so right using a lighter foot and is surprisingly good economy.

General Comments
I fancied an Aston Martin DB7 whilst on my search for the right spec car for my needs but cannot complain or question my choice of an S-Class 500L as it is a whole lot of car. A good car especially when you consider that from new it cost a little over £89,000 but I paid a little under £17,000. It feels so good to drive and discs and pads cost no more than the same for a Ford or Vauxhall.
