We took our 8 week old baby and two and half year old here as we wanted a fun holiday for our eldest where everything was on site and we didn't have to travel much with our new baby and Butlins definately delivered. I'll admit we were skeptical before we went and thought it would be very run down and we were sort of proved right. If you usually favour holidays more in league with centre parks then you're not going to like it (myself and my husband didn't) as the accommodation (we stayed in silver) is very scruffy. However, our son absolutley adored it!! Children don't notice how the buildings could do with a paint or the carpets are sticky or the red coats are only smiling because they are paid to. Children have a brilliant holiday were the vast majority of activities are free so they get to do everything hundreds of times over! The beach is right there, the funfair is free so mum and dad will sit while you ride til you're sick, the pool is great and they get lots of attention from the wonderful red coats. You however will be bored stupid, staying in something only vaguely better than a slum and being forced to associate with people you spend the rest of your life avoiding. But what's more important, your enjoyment or your children's? It's your call. P.S. we're going back this year....god help us!
