“if its too good to be true...”

paid £34 for a three day hire through a broker site. This was including insurance. Arrived at desk in Mallorca Airport to be told "that's not insurance, only we insure the car".

They then asked for 1400 euro deposit PLUS a fuel deposit for a tank of fuel - which is held on your credit card for 1 month - why such a long time? None of this was made clear at time of booking. It should be bold and in-your-face for something like that.

Deposits I fully accept but for such a large amount and for such a long period I don't get - other than to service the business' cash-flow.

Needless to say I walked away. Better to lose £34 and cut my losses.

Ended up hiring from a small company in our resort for 40 euro, no fuel surcharge - just fill it up, as you'd expect and no deposit.
