“Do not use Bridgfords!”

Poor service when selling our house

Bridgfords did not do any of the work promised. I had to write the description for the house, then they still managed to get it wrong on rightmove and zoopla and the floor plan they got wrong too. I had to ask them to put up a for sale sign, I had to ask them to change it to 'sold' when the house was sold.

The worst thing was that they agreed with us that we would pay them 0.85% of the sale price WITHOUT VAT added but then during the process they tried to add VAT to the fee. Even after assuring me that I was right and our agreement indeed stated that we would not pay VAT they still sent an invoice to our solicitors where they added VAT.

Also, they try to get you to use their sister company Countrywide as the solicitors who are super slow. We knew this so did not instruct Countrywide to be our solicitors but then Bridgfords managed to convince the buyers to use them as their solicitors and they slowed down the process immensely. Both

Bridgfords and Countrywide are completely incompetent and useless in my opinion.
