Good Points
Normally competent digital camera.
Bad Points
Poor exposure control on very high contrast subjects compared to cheaper cameras.
General Comments
Kyocera Finecam S5 Digital Camera
Beware, from a recent visit to the Pyrenees photographs of snow fields were very dissapointing compared to those from a Coolpix 2100. On auto the S5R has a tendency to over expose, even on indoor shots, giving areas of sturated peak white and saturated peak black. No setting seems to stop this. It has no snow or sand field scene setting. The Coolpix 2100 which has a snow setting gave pleasing shade variation to snow fields with good foreground colour. Normal photography with the S5R is ok but nothing special for a digital camera. The wide angle is useful but the telephoto is too short range.
