“For a first, The Acoustic Festival of Britain wasn't a...”

written by KMM on 23/07/2007

Good Points
This festival was new in 2006 but every effort had been made to cater for every requirement.
Excellent toilets both in the arena and the campsite.
Large marquees hosting the two main stages
Great setting and a really picturesque walk from the camspite to the arena in the daytime
Good shop in the campsite

Bad Points
Food was a bit too 'burger van' for me
The timing of the acts between the two main stages meant that there was a rush from one to the other - might be better to overlap the performances and force people to choose.
Some of the better stalls e.g. the music stall were pitched in an area that saw little trade from what I could see.
Lighting after dark (particularly back to the campsite) was poor
Why do festivals bother with funfairs?

General Comments
For a first, The Acoustic Festival of Britain wasn't a bad little festival - numbers were probably less than the organisers were expecting, as the weather wasn't too good which probably put a few locals off. However there was a good line-up to appeal to most tastes and I notice they have pulled out some crackers for 2007 so will watch what other people think of this year's event with interest.
