Superb Sound quality!, Prologic II, DTS, Dolby Digital.
Poor DVD Laser Pick-up. The Layer Change is "Awful". However I bought this system for the Amp and not the DVD player as I already own one so that is not important to me.
Volume is just a little bit of a let down and I have thought about buying an external amp to turn it up past "39". DTS sounds great, It's just a shame you cant turn the Amp up to that level,
"50" would have been perfect.
MP3 playback is an absolute Joke.
You cant forward or reverse through tracks.
Once again Laser Pick-up is Bad, It takes about 10 seconds to go from track 1 to 100. Compared to my Pioneer Slim-Line that gets there in a second.
I have had this Amp/DVD Player for about 3 months now and am very happy with the Sound Quality.
As I metioned in the Bad points "Don't bother buying this if you want it for the DVD Player" It's awful!. I use the external optical out (Video 2) for my Pioneer DVD player and I use a mixer for Video 1 so that I can plug all my other sources in and use the Dolby ProLogic II Setting.
If you like your cables "Get a good DJ Mixer" You can get them from under £30.
Also you can adjust the volume via the Mixer if you want to listen to DVDS in Prologic II and get an even louder sound output.
You cannot adjust "Optical sound" It is a Digital Source and there is no current technology to do this anyway.
On the Whole The Sound on this baby is Great!
My Sub is fantastic! (Watch "Panic Room"), I don't use the DVD Player as I have metioned before:
Bad Picture (No RGB)
Poor Laser Pick-up (On all systems)
You have to push DVDS into the System (this is anoying)
No Wide-Screen recognisen on 16:9 TVS so if you want to use this player you will have to manually change the setting on your TV "Even if you set the player to 16:9!"
I give this system 10 Stars for the Sound "Only".
