“terrible, ignorant and fraudulent customer service”

If I could, I would give ZERO stars. My German friend booked a car online via a third party, requesting a GPS. She had flown in from Germany with limited English knowledge. In the days prior to her arrival in Los Angeles, I had called and left messages twice to please be called back to make her car rental go smooth. Nobody EVER bothered to return my calls. When my friend arrived at the airport after having been up for 27 hours, she was "upgraded" to a different car, claiming that her rental car would not accommodate a GPS. This "upgrade" doubled her rental fees for the 12-day duration of her stay. I contacted Hertz corporate via their online form, requesting a call or email response to make this right. Nobody bothered contacting me, and now we are a week into this disaster. I DO NOT recommend Hertz as a rental company.
