Good Points
All the good things you will read about this model are true, it really is faultless on the sat nav functions. The built in live traffic reports and 'avoid delay' function is invaluable.
Bad Points
The Nuvi 660 is marketed as being a dual purpose unit, doubling up as your in-car Bluetooth handsfree phone system also. This is where the unit fails miserably. The problem isn't with connectability or functionality but it's the speaker quality that is absolutely horrible. You have to operate it with the volume turned up to full as well as your phones earpiece volume turned to full to have any chance of holding a conversation whilst driving on a motorway at any reasonable speed. The speaker at this point is obviously overloaded and gives out a horrible distorted sound like you would expect from some cheap handheld radio.
General Comments
As the Garmin Nuvi 660 is one of the most expensive sat nav's on the market I really would have expected better quality sound and this really does let the Garmin n vi 660 down. On the whole, however, I am still impressed with it's navigation capabilities. I was disappointed by Garmin's after sales care - I wrote to their customer services department about the speaker problem and never even received a reply!
If your primary requirement is for a quality sat nav system, then I would recommend this model but if like me you need a handsfree phone system that will enable you to hold a conversation I would recommend that you check out alternatives before buying.
