Good Points
A practical car with plenty of room for 2 adults and five children plus luggage.
Bad Points
The most unreliable car I have ever had the privilege (or otherwise!) to own!
General Comments
I decided to purchase a Land Rover Discovery because I thought I was buying into rugged reliability and a vehicle which would serve a family of 2 adults and 5 children in the semi-arid environment of Cyprus to which we we have moved recently. The car's first original engine failed within 1 month of purchase due to a deteriorating 4th cylinder, so I had a second engine with guaranteed mileage installed from a reputable reseller. Since then it has suffered from numerous faults including defective multi-function unit, front brake caliper seizure, warped front discs, reversing light switch, central locking failure, key fobs, rear electric windows failed, blown head gasket and now the second engine has overheated and disintegrated because of a cooling system failure. I haven't managed to drive any further than a 60km round trip without something going wrong. It's cost me £350 a month for the last 10 months to keep on the road. My advice is they're pretty 4x4's but not worth the trouble - Buy a Japanese alternative!
