strong, cheep, reliable, fast action
the original stocks were a horrid idea especially with the bronze "recoil pad". also avoid buying 1 that hasn't already go dovetails as you will pay through the teeth for them. that is if you intend to scope it. the action isn't the quietest there is a click as you lower the bolt regardless of how you do it.
i own the Lee Enfield no4 mk1 got it for nz$120 with dove tails. i was told that finding rings would be a mission but a trip down to the local gun store found me rooting around in there boxes of old rings an vwalla a set that fit for $10 slapped a scope i got of the internet for $40 and i was away. how many guns can you set up $170 my .22 cost more. since i have made a new stock in the bruno style with a cheek pad made from our native timber kauri. they have got to be one of the most reliable and robust guns on the market past 300meters your doing well to hit the side of a barn but 0-200 there perfect.
