“After 13 months the Road Angel Navigator became very...”

written by pore66 on 23/01/2008

Good Points
Appears to cover most fixed cameras and safety vans in my area. Worked well for the first 10 months. Required a software update due to lat/long readings being incorrect, supplied free on sd card.

Bad Points
After about 11 months the touch screen lost sensitivity. Route processing took an age to calculate. On some occasions would not respond to screen commands for an age or not at all.

General Comments
After 13 months the Road Angel Navigator became very very slow to use. It ceased to be charged from the in car cable and once the internal battery had run down the unit was swithched on and off as the car ignition was turned on and off. Eventually the unit cleared all the bookmarks stored on its own! The technical help I received was a suggestion to charge the thing using the mains charger (which I was having to do anyway) and for the other problems return the unit for repair at a cost of £55. Hence I have relegated my Road Angel 6000 to the Wheely bin and am in the process of purchsing an RAC unit. My mistake was obviously buying the Road Angel in the first place!
