Good Points
Sun, tropical climate, rainforest next door, safe, relaxing, clean, good value, excellent customer service, local activities, good food.... it goes on. Has everything I want from a hotel.

General Comments
I'm usually very critical in my reviews, with 9 out 10 being my usual highest rating (there's always room for improvement), but the Shangri-La Rasa Ria is just excellent. We have travelled to many places in the world, and Malaysia is our favourite destination. This hotel made a potentially very good holiday into the best so far. It is fancy and luxurious enough to feel relaxed and pampered without the snob factor. The hotel has its own (real) rainforest, which both adults and children will (safely) enjoy. Rooms are large and clean, with either rainforest or sea views. It is close to Kota Kinabalu and Mount Kinabalu. Amazing place! If you're reading this review and have already booked it, you will not be disappointed: Good choice. If you're seeing a hypnotherapist and they ask you to picture your happy place, this will be it.
