“Poor attitude, pressurised sales, non-reactive - Aylesbury”

written by on 06/03/2017

Unfortunately, my experience was a case of Connells doing what they want rather than what their Customer wants.
My partner initially spoke on the phone to a sales agent who had agreed terms should we wish to continue. He arranged someone else to visit my property for a valuation only. This other sales agent then valued the property and wanted to discuss terms. I had advised we had already done that, however a contract was still being filled in by him with his expectation for me to sign there and then. I advised this wasn’t the case and ended the valuation.
Latterly, we agreed all parties should connect to discuss terms. Even though we had previously agreed terms over the phone, Connells would not agree and we ended having to re-negotiate (which we did and very nearly received the terms my partner initially agreed too).
After agreeing to pay an upfront fee of nearly £200 for a professional photographer and a premium listing on Rightmove, a professional photographer was sent round and after 90 minutes, around 20 pictures were taken – yes, it took that long.
Once the advert was live, we noticed that only 8 pictures were used (for a 4 bedroom property) and how poor the pictures were and asked for him to use any better ones that the photographer may had taken and to add more than 8 pictures (the advert was missing numerous selling points of the house). We offered to supply our own pictures. This was agreed to immediately, but was never actioned, not even 4 weeks later. It also took 10 days before the standard advert became a premium advert on rightmove. This removed the opportunity to advertise in the “important first week” – as per Connell’s advice.
Overall, I would not recommend Connells. I felt pressurised and ignored when it came to me raising concerns.
