“If you are having trouble with the cannon firing, call...”

written by Davloran on 02/12/2006

Good Points
The N.S.E.C.T. is a ton of fun. We have four of them at our house, and both the kids and adults enjoy them. The movement is very smooth and consistent. There are many games we play with them. We play tag, capture the flag, bug races, war, darts and a game we call "the transporter", where you must drag items around to certain points using the claw. We have had to get the kids several bags of army men so the N.S.E.C.T. would have an impressive army of bad guys to plough through.

Overall, well worth the money.

Bad Points
It is loud! The cannon will often lower on it's own, especially after firing. We had to order replacement darts from Mattel, as the sets of darts that came with them were of the wrong specifications and would only fire a few inches, if at all. Also, it will sometimes tip to the front or back; it remains to be seen if the recovery will cause excess stress or damage to the legs.

General Comments
If you are having trouble with the cannon firing, call Mattel first before returning your N.S.E.C.T. Robotic Attack Insect, as it may need the black darts as opposed to the white ones, which they will ship free of charge. Yes, it's a bummer to have to wait for the new darts to fire the cannon. Also, we found the need for extra batteries fairly quickly. Overall though, it is very entertaining for both young ones and grown ups.
