“Travel card-wrong exchange rate”

I went to Thomas Cook on Saturday to get a travel card as I'm going to Australia soon. Therefore I asked to put £1000 to the card. Firstly, the lady was trying to get us put more money on the card. We refused. Secondly, she did not explain anything and just handed us a booklet and a receipt of my transaction. Then, I've tried to sign up on the app, which did not work so I had to call customer service but when I called they told me the balance on my account, which surprised me. There was £105 less than what the lady told us. Confused, I checked the exchange rate she gave us and then compared it with the one on Thomas Cook's website. The difference was 0.10%, so I called the customer service again and they told me that if you accept the exchange rate at the time it cannot be changed afterwards. Which in my opinion is a disgrace. Obviously I'm going to trust the lady when she gives me the exchange rate, it's supposed to be a renown and professional company. Therefore I lost money when I thought I would get a good deal.
