Unfortunately the Consumer Ombudsman are only able to deal with complaints about companies who participate in the Consumer Ombudsman Scheme. KWIK-FIT does not currently participate in the scheme and therefore the Consumer Ombudsman is unable to look into complaints.
It is not compulsory for companies to engage with the Consumer Ombudsman scheme and they cannot advise you what steps to take, here are some options that you could consider:
· Continue to complain to the company, DVSA/VOSA & your local trading standards office. If you paid with a credit or debit card you can complain to the dispute resolution team via your bank to dispute any charges.
· Contact the Citizens Advice Bureau
· Seek independent legal advice to explore your legal options.
I wish I knew this information before dealing with this company otherwise never would have bothered going in the first place.
