“Air conditioning was lovely to have on in the test...”

written by on 05/08/2008

Bad Points
Steering doesnt give much driver feedback, which could be a good point if you want silky smooth steering - though being used to driving older cars at the same time.
I call it the lazy system! You can steer it around round-abouts with your little finger and not blink an eye to it.. Comfortable, but a little to smooth.
So if your baseball cap clad adidas tracksuit wearing boy racer, steer clear of this car, its not for you. Anyone else? It's just toyota perfection!

General Comments
Air conditioning was lovely to have on in the test drive, was quite hot outside and was delighted to see that feature after only being back from Spain 2 weeks and all the taxi's over there had it.

Gadgetry, controlls and the onboard computer up in the dash. All look cool, very modern and gives you a very executive and upmarket feel to it.

Safety is brilliant, scoring one of the highest in the NCAP safety testing has airbags all over the place, including knee bags to protect your legs from impact!

A nice array of engines to choose.. From low insurance/tax 1.6 to 2.2diesel engines, theres a nice variety aswell as including even the base models come quipped with a good choice of 'extras'.

Seeing as we're in 2004, the 2008 model is more or less the same car, but for bigger bucks. Slight facelift in the bonnet/grill but other than that, eye candy is the same.

What would you do? A 2004 for 10,900 euro or a 2008 for 24,000 euro? - I'll have two '04 models, please. Unless your paying for the priviledge of having a "08" car... Nah...

All in all, fantastic looking, handling and drivability in this car.. It makes you just want to miss the turning for your house and keep going as it's so comfortable.. That said? If Carlsberg made cars, they'd probably call them Toyota's.
Went to view this car at a respectable Toyota dealership. The car I went to see was the 2004 model, and I liked the fact they had it parked up against the 2007/2008 models showing hardly any difference in show, but nice price difference in them.
