Good Points
Handling, comfort, performance, very nimble and agile for its size.
Bad Points
No bad points at 20k, owned for 10k.
Quibble no.1 - 1st gear could perhaps have even lower ratio- I do on very odd occasions stall on taking off, this is really down to me.
Quibble no2 - the heater sometimes puts out hot air when set to cool (a/c is off) setting to maximum and then adjusting back to cool cures this. The dealer could not find a fault.
I find nothing else to criticise. However the mpg gauge is not as versatile as that in previous Mondeos.
General Comments
My Ford Mondeo ST220 3 Litres is excellent! Typically 27-31mpg. Cruise at 60-70 in summer and it gives 35-38 depending on trip length. Awesome take off in 3rd or 4th gear, motorway magic when in a big hurry. At 20k the tyres look good for perhaps another 10k (or more at the back).
Comp insurance for 60 year old full no claims less than £250 at Direct Line and several others.
Previously I owned a Mondeo 2.5 V6 Ghia X for 7 years. I have no qualms about keeping the ST220 that long, it is an absolute joy.
