The ECS RS480-M is a pretty full proof and solid motherboard. It accepts all Opterons and AMD 64 CPU's, both single and dual core. The BIOS has several adjustments for those who like to tweak / OC their machine (I do not). PCIE bandwidth is strong, and the layout/architecture of the MD seems well thought out. The quality of the board appears great for its price.
For many, this will not be an issue.... It only has a single CPU socket. It is limited to 2Gb of ram, and it only has 1 PCIE slot and 4 PCI slots. Pretty plain vanilla Chevrolet here.
While it is not a screamer, it is stable and strong with limited upgradability. In the final analysis, it is great bang for the buck stuff, that some would call cheap. I use it as a third system, and it runs like a Timex watch.
