“Let me share the experience I just had. We missed the...”

Written on: 26/03/2011

Let me share the experience I just had. We missed the 40 minute early showing yesterday by few minutes (like 3 min) and we lost our seats. We had to pay 43 pounds each for the next day at 7AM flight. We lost one night at Hilton Arc de Triomphe in Paris and had to buy Hilton near Luton not to mention numerous international calls to keep our reservation in Paris in tact. Those tax drivers trying to overcharge us, too.

So far, I will swallow, although bitterly, because I didn't show up few minutes early.

My daughter was smart enough to confirm the one bag policy at the airport yesterday. We've packed our bags so that one bag was checked in this morning and decided to carry on 2 bags of the same size. All of these bags are certified to be carry-on ready in size and shape. I've been traveling the world with these carry on bags without a single incident.

When we checked in one bag this morning, the lady at the counter didn't say a word about other bags of the same size. When my daughter was getting on board, the lady saw her US passport (and I swear she didn't see the carry on bag which my daughter was tagging along in her bag) and told her to step aside. One woman showed up and told us to try the size bin and as we were trying, she said since we need to force it in we need to check in for 30 pounds. She saw my smaller Ricardo bag and told me to try it, too. So, we ended up paying 60 pounds for nothing. This is a highway robbery if you ask me. A UK airline acting like a 3rd world country scam artist. This is nothing but a greyhound - little did I know.

I saw other EU passengers with the similar bags or even bigger and they had no issues. They see American passports and instantly see cash cows. My impression on UK after this went down the sewer.
