These Frontier E34 Electric Golf buggies are well designed but cheaply produced. Therefore continual maintenance is of prime importance. Their low value appearance on the second hand market enables them to be returned to a better than new condition very cheaply. The batteries require upgrading from 20AH to 24AH and changing them is somewhat fiddley rather than difficult. As all the wires are either black or red you should ensure that each wire is clearly marked so that they can be returned to the correct locations. Check all connections as the original crimping is a little slap dash. The drive chain can be noisy and requires adjustment and lubrication in the same way a motorcycle chain does. Wheel bearings need to be re-packed with grease to avoid rumble and undue wear. The fibre glass body shell requires rubber washers fitting to all locating points to cut down on rattle. Changing to lock nuts and shake proof washers also pays dividends. The brake cable requires lubrication and adjustment to get the best out of the rear disk brake. Initially the steering can feel vague, owing to the fold down column feature, but you quickly get used it. A good dose of WD40 on all moving parts pays off in the long run. The motor is adequate but if you really wanted to improve performance then it could be rewound be warned this is not cheap. To be fair, don't expect a Rolls-Royce but with a little effort you will get tremendous value and service from a low cost second hand buggy.
