I have been banking with barclays for over 20 years. Recently opened a new business account with them. Had a small problem with streamline and they recalled a payment that went into my Barclays account. Within 24hrs i received a letter from Barclays saying they are going to close my personal and business account and i should withdraw all funds within 2 weeks. Anyway, streamline have since sorted the problem and returned funds to my account. The response from Barclays has been abysmal. My customer relationship manager has been excellent - same cannot be said for the backup team at Barclays - especially the person who writes the letters to say that we are going to close your account etc.
I told my relationship manager that rather than being thrown off ship 2 weeks down the line i will jump myself and take all my money with me (a good credit balance as well!). Just who do they think they are treating a 20 year old customer like they dont even know me?!
Very very annoying, disturbing, frustrating and stressful.
If i have to jump ship, i will. They are treating me like i have commited a crime even though the initial query from streamline has been resolved successfully.
If they have done this to me, they could well do it to you.
