Good Points
I have reviewed this player once in quite derogatory terms. However, after spending some 6 hours trying to download .WMA files and delete them from Windows XP, the firmware appeared corrupted and the player unusable. Trying again today has allowed WMA files to be downloaded, and they are now normally playable. So unpredictable!
Bad Points
This is the ubiquitous Chinese S1 MP3 player probably produced by the millions in the PRC. The firmware has almost as many varieties as the brand names under which this player is sold. Friable firmware and no means of backing up the firmware to your computer make it liable to be a write-off pretty quickly. The firmware upgrade is illusory. Search for S1MP3.org on Google and see for yourself.
General Comments
If you are paying £15 for a 256Mb player then the ATMT LITE MP130BK 256MB is OK, but DO NOT buy the 512Mb or 1 or 2Gb versions. It would be better to buy a properly supported Sony player or an iPod. You will get bona fide firmware upgrades there.
The bigger capacity S1 MP3 players are not worth it. They may not even have the Flash Drive capacity you think you are paying for.
