Good Points
Simple to use and infinately configurable. Much lower price than similar devices. It also looks good, sounds great and it works!
Bad Points
Display a little dated.
General Comments
Slim Devices have stopped manufacturing the Squeezebox 2, with the Squeezebox 3 now only available in retail outlets. However, the Squeezebox 2 is still available from auction sites, such as Ebay, and is a great product.
In my view the Squeezebox 3 is simply overpriced as it appears to be much the same as the Squeezebox 2, but in a different case and with a better display. The Squeezebox 2 connects to your server (freeware from Slim Devices running on a computer, which the Squeezebox connects to using ethernet cable or wireless) simply and quickly and is then easy to use and produces decent sound from your hi-fi, connecting via line-in (Aux) or digitally via the optical output.
Bottom line is, dont go for a spanking new networked MP3 player get a second-hand Squeezebox 2 and you wont be dispointed.
