General Comments
I bought one of these Wharfedale DVD-750 DVD players when I saw them in my local tescos. It wasn't the cheapest they had, but it was very reasonable and offered all of the features I was after. At first I was reasonably happy with my purchase but it was only after watching a number of films on it that flaws became apparent.
- The menu system is UGLY.
- When watching some titles it would freeze the frame and sound for a fraction of a second. For some titles this was very bad.
- Extra features on some dvd's just could not be used at all.
- The sound was poor, although for the price I didn't consider this a big problem.
- On dark sections of films the background would be blocky.
This was not a one off dodgy dvd player that I had purchased as I myself originally thought. I swapped it at my local store for another of the same model and had all the same problems. I may have been unfortunate enough to have been given a dodgy dvd player on both occasions, I will never know as I didn't have the will left to swap for a 3rd one.
My advice? Don't buy!
