My review and score relate just to the Challenge Xtreme 18V Hammer Drill which I bought a couple of weeks ago for general DIY around the house. To date it has proved to be an excellent purchase and extremely good value for money at £49 including a 3 year extended warranty. In my opinion if you want a better drill with a second battery you must be prepared to pay a lot more. I'm puzzled by some reviews referring to a lack of power - this has certainly not been my experience. I took out the warranty because Argos said that the rechargeable batteries were covered!! I couldn't believe it, so just to be sure I asked one of the shop management to confirm it in writing on the front of the insurance document. So, I got a good drill with two batteries and a 3 year warranty for less than fifty quid - sounded good to me. Let's see what happens if there are any problems with the batteries - I might be telling a different tale then!



One last thing - I can't say the same for the little electric screwdriver that came with drill. It is very underpowered and of little practical use - Argos need to look at either improving it, replacing it or removing it. If you are buying the kit because of the screwdriver then don't. Hence my review relates to the drill alone.
