Very attractive looking, great talking point. Some can be quite friendly with time and patience and luck!
Can be nasty, whipping it's tail every time you put your hand in the terrarium. Needs a lot of handling to try to avoid this. Can also bite quite hard! Pretty expensive to set up and maintain as it grows.
Simple advice?... Don't!! But if you still want an Iguana, read up as much as you can. Find out as much as possible from anyone who keeps them, and most importantly buy from a reputable dealer in snakes and reptiles. They can grow to a huge size and outgrow their terrarium in a few years, so be prepared to buy one eventually that will take up a lot of space and will cost a lot more money! They feed on live crickets which occasionally escape around the house, chirping at night! They are also partial to mealworms. I no longer have mine. He was getting very big and very angry!! Even with lots of handling!!
