One segment of 4 in a RT ticket from Paris to Palma de Mallorca was operated by AirBerlin. On none of the other segments was baggage weight in question but AB charged me 10Euro per KG. You could buy new cloths for that much. I find it close to extortion. Being in a new country and want to buy gifts but the transport penalty is very painful. The extra cost of that one segment cost me 80Euros (2 persons travel) which takes the entire RT cost more than many of the competitive flights offered. Had I known I would have got AirEuropa or AirFrance RT for less. It was of course too late to change to another airline. Never again will I fly this airline.
Beware if you fly AirBerlin.
