“The Citroen C5 suspension should not have collapsed...”

written by Moodyblue on 14/04/2006

Good Points
Extremely comfortable, quiet, long distance cruiser.

Bad Points
Excessive turbo lag; have to anticipate traffic at roundabouts to get away safely. Suspension collapse at 62000 miles at cost of £998.

General Comments
The Citroen C5 suspension should not have collapsed after such a moderate mileage. The car is only 4 years old. Collapse preceeded by loud (I mean LOUD) 'tang' noises, like driving over loose manhole cover. Got louder and louder. Pedestrians started to look as it was so loud. Local garages could find no cause, howver, Worleys Citroen in High Wycombe said both sides of rear suspension had collapsed. Huge cost, but then the boss of this moderate small town dealership drives a top of the range Aston Martin.... Hmmmmmm!!! Won't be buying another and wife can only say..'Told you so..!'
