General Comments
I have only had this Remington Summit .177 rifle since yesterday, but my initial impression is that this is a good quality gun.
The gun comes with a nice scope, compared to most of the other "combo" guns out there. The mildot reticle and open adjustments were great for getting sighted in quickly, and the scope has held zero quite well for the 300 rds I have been able to put through it.
The barrel was a bit tricky to break at first. It seems it takes just the slightest slap and then it breaks smoothly, but if you just try to grab it and muscle it you can bend the barrel. I'm not sure if they are all this way or not, but it doesnt seem to hurt the accuracy any. The gun operates smoothly as far as breaking the barrel.
The trigger is not great, but it works. I'm hoping it will smooth out as I get more rounds through the gun. Pull weight is ridiculous out of the box.
As far as accuracy goes, I have only just started to break the gun in. Using RWS pointed lead pellets, I am able to consistently hit a 3x3 hanging square target from about 30 yards. Groupings during sight in for 5 shots at the same range were inside an inch if the trigger didn't have me pointing the gun at the sky by the time it broke.
