“I've just recently bought this sweet car: 1998 civic...”

Written on: 09/09/2002 by Mike.

Good Points
Sweet 1.6L DOHC VTEC engine above 6 thousand revs.....it feels soo sweet! Always underestimated at the lights, it is an empowering feeling! Excellent mechanical quality, seats, handling, fuel economy, gearbox etc

Bad Points
Engine is not torquey enough at low revs....when full of ppl, the car is anything but fast. It's exterior is a bit too plain.....u wanna see where ur money went, interior is plain too. Cost-in oz we can get some nice (turbo) imports for the money (but at the same time, its a lot cheaper than most european rivals, and faster than jap rivals).

General Comments
I've just recently bought this sweet car: 1998 civic VTi-R (the Australian equivalent to an Sir) - 160Hp 1.6L DOHC VTEC. It goes like a bat outta hell if ur in the sweet VTEC zone.....but sometimes the lack of torque is annoying -downshifts are a common occurrence (when maybe they shouldnt be necessary). It is good to be able to drive it like a normal civic, but when u need it, use the power that lurks within! always look for cars that have been thrashed....stuffed gearboxes and cluches are relatively common.
