“Amathus Beach hotel in Limassol Cyprus is a romantic...”

written by Marion 059 on 27/05/2010

Amathus Beach hotel in Limassol Cyprus is a romantic place in paradise that is clean with attentive service to holidaymaker needs. The numerous restaurants offer a gastronomic delight for lunch and dinner so the only problem is coming back a few kilos heavier after your idyllic break. The hotel was the first 5 star Hotel in Limassol and as such enjoys the best location in the area with its own private beach and private gardens with palm trees. Although many 5 star hotels have been built in the area in recent years threatening to overshadow the Amathus hotel by taking potential clients away looking for luxury, this has been solved by the Amathus Hotel closing between December 2008 and April 2009 and after undergoing an ambitious '15,000,000 Refurbishment, in only 5 months, the hotel is once again well placed as the exclusive five star hotel it always was with superior sea view rooms on the first floor that look out onto the star studded sky and sea from your private balcony. There is a wide variety of restaurants to accommodate every taste including Chinese style Asian cuisine. In summer months there is the fish taverna that serves the fresh catch of the day that you can pick from the display! Theme nights during the summer entertain while you eat and there is a kids club for children up to the age of twelve years old. One word of warning is that the water sports attached to the hotel are not owned by the hotel and is privately owned by two brothers with a permit from the government. The result is they charge expensive prices for their services and are impolite and give the most impersonal short service they can manage that is not enjoyable for holidaymakers.

The hotel has a spa and wellness centre that is recognised as one of the leading spas in the world, which is justified for the calm sanctuary and attentive service the spa offers. There are two outdoor freshwater swimming pools, an indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, that is open till around 8pm. There is also a newly built gym with equipment to help you to lose those extra kilos and a childrens area where they can play table tennis outside and a children's room next to the gym that offers games and other activities. Although Cyprus has accepted to change to the Euro from the Cyprus Pound that has made everything more expensive, I still think it is worthwhile to travel to the Amathus Beach Hotel in Limassol for around 7 days to experience the warm hospitality and gastronomic experience that is difficult to find anywhere else in Europe despite the expense!
