Away from the hustle and bustle of Dudley and the Merry Hill shopping centre, The Oriental Pearl is a place for recuperating one's senses with good food within a sophisticated and attractive setting.



There is an impressive array of cuisines from Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Malaysia, making it an ideal place to be adventurous with your palate. The Teppanyaki (pick-your-own raw ingredients and have them fried on the spot) is entertaining to watch - flames an' all - and satisfyingly tasty. The meals in the buffet section taste as good as it looks. With a starting price of £5.90 for lunch and £10.90 for evening, you can eat as much as you like for a very reasonable price too.



Dining in the Oriental Pearl is a wonderfully relaxed experience in a spacious and modern contemporary setting without rubbing shoulders with the table next to you. It was also a bonus not to have to queue long for that, as I have done in other places. The service was excellent, and my Long Island Cocktail surpassed its tantalising description in the menu. A final flourish was the chocolate fountain which made a perfect mouth-watering end to a great evening out.



Watch this space. I shall be more than happy to go back.
