General Comments
When the Oriental Pearl restaurant first opened I couldn't wait to try it as the choice for Chinese food (not takeaways) is limited in Dudley. They made a big effort welcoming customers, and the building had been refurbished to a high standard. It is a buffet style menu, or as some say 'all you can eat'. The choice of food was good compared to other similar venues I had visited, and the staff were polite and friendly. I visited the restaurant recently and the atmosphere has changed. I think now the opening stage is over they have let things slip a little, and it shows. I wasn't as happy with the choice of food, and a lot of what I ate felt warmed up or cold. I don't think I shall visit again. They have also increased the prices a little, although they are still very reasonable.
