Only one of my eyes requires correction, so the use of lenses is optional for me to improve depth perception, etc.
I wore Acuvue 2 lenses throughout high school, which required me to wear the contact during the day and take it out each night. It worked fine for my needs, even when I forgot to remove them and wore them for up to 36 hours.
Now my job affords me good vision care coverage. I tried the Ciba Optix O2 lenses due to their ability to be worn for 6 nights straight with one night "off" between wearings.
They just did not agree with my eye. I'd get irritation and cloudy vision after just a day of wearing.
I stopped in to America's Best on my lunch one day after a few trial weeks, and they were nice enough to fit me in to see the doctor. He fully explained the situation and gave me an Acuvue Oasys trial lens, which worked great!
I don't mean to run down Ciba's lenses, but I thought I'd share my experience. Maybe my eyes are just sensitive, and Ciba lenses may work good for others.
