This was my first ever flight with Virgin as we usually fly BA or to Far East, Malaysia or similar. I thought Virgin was in the same class but overall very disappointed. Check in on both ends was a joke, long queues despite online check in. Staff being unhelpful (rude) to us (in Jamaica after we were delayed with 22 hours) and overall not a very good experience as a family.
Mostly as we were flying with two toddlers. We could pre-board on both legs but there was no entertainment for the kids. They inform you on their website that there is Vkids channel for pre-schoolers and all kids get a backpack. Unfortunately on our long haul flight outward, pre-school entertainment lasted 22 minutes so that left around 8,5 of remaining flight time to keep them busy and there were no backpacks. No games or tv channel or other things for them to do, unlike what you get with other airlines. Kids pay for they seat but don't get any thing in return on this flight ( childs meal was ok).
On the return leg we were delayed 22 hours so that was not great either. Overall, minimal service and comfort and would not fly them with kids as they do not cater for them well.
