General Comments
I had high hopes for the Jabula Restaurant, however ..

The 'tapas', was a very over priced and extremely frustrating and disappointing experience.

As the food arrived we were told to take one piece of meat and pass it along - one strip of meat aprox (1.5 inch by 1 cm) ostrich, crocodile, springbok, one meatball, you have to be kidding me How much am I paying for this insult again?.... No just turn my brain off and enjoy the experience.

Then came the sliced tinned mushrooms in Campbell's condensed mushroom soup, not forgetting the single slice of frozen garlic bread, I don't think I can take much more of this!

By this point I was starving and looking forward to some real food, so when the bobotie arrived, not my first experience of this dish, and I had high hopes, but these were soon dashed! Then came a casserole which should be cooked over 3 coals in its own potjie, but this tasted like it had been bought frozen and heated in the microwave before dishing up. Finally the curry, now you can't go wrong with curry, and my partner never thought he would find a curry he didn't like, well they managed and the majority was left.

To add insult to injury the wine was exceptionally over priced at 150% mark up, now I don't mind paying for a decent bottle of wine, but being in the trade, I know my wines and I know when I am being ripped off, and the whole experience was a farce.

On a lighter note, the band was involving and although a bit too loud, did a very good job. If I had to go again, I would order a meat dish, a whole meat dish, not a slither of an excuse of a piece of meat, but a whole piece.

But then again I think I'd rather go elsewhere where I was able to get what I paid for and not pay for the pretence of an over rated, under satisfying experience.
