Good Points
Nippy, reliable, reliable, reliable, easy to drive, quite sturdy.
Bad Points
Cross-winds tend to knock it off course a bit.
General Comments
I had a K10 (square micra) for 3 years which was really reliable. Then I got a fiesta, which was not. Now I have a '98 version (revised headlights) Nissan Micra K11 1.0l GX spec. I do a lot of driving for work in town and in the country. I find that, despite being sub 1litre, the little micra has enough poke to keep up with the traffic and really does not mind being revved. It has only not started twice (dodgy battery terminal) in 12 months. The car is easy to park but the boot does not seem as big as the Saxo's (however the saxo's driving position is awful). I once drove the micra from London to Edinburgh in one day and the car coped fine. The only draw back with the engine is that it can begin to struggle on long motorway inclines but on the flat and on short hills, even fully laden (and I mean house moving fully laden!), it copes really well. Although the car does have a tendancy to go a bit sideways in the crosswinds its not too bad once you get used to it. Inside the car is smooth but the rear seat base does not fold which means the load area is not as easy to use as it could be, however I do get my mountain bike in the back no probs.
The remote central locking is a real bonus aswell.
