Good Points
I think the fact that we had such a good guide made all the difference. The boat was also very good.
Bad Points
Too much hassle in Luxor & that generally meant it was impossible to wander round & window shop. A great pity but I guess that is modern Egypt.
General Comments
We have just returned from a Nile Cruise on the MS Semmiramiss 2 with Thomas Cook Holidays. It was a wonderful experience in every respect. The boat was very good, cabins a little small but that didn't detract from the overall impression. The food was very good & plenty of it. The boat was clean & the crew very helpful in every respect. Our guide on the tour was extremely knowledgeable & very helpful. We then spent a week in Luxor; unfortunately everytime you left the hotel there were hawkers etc trying to get business. They were not threatening but very irritatating; having said that 'No Thankyou' worked for me. We stayed in the Sofital Pavillon in the grounds of the 'Old Winter Palace'; once again a wonderful experience. Keith of Norwich.
