General Comments
We were looking for something different when in Orlando, when we heard about the Central Florida Zoo, which is situated near Sanford(Interstate 4 exit 104). Its not the world's biggest zoo and doesn't try to be either, but it also isn't too crowded except for school parties which shouldn't be a problem in the summer. The atmosphere is informal and educational, the choice of animals is dictated by the space available, but you can get close to the emus and wallabies, though we couldn't see the baby wallabies. The zoo staff let you know, where you can see any recent arrivals(baby animals), only the elephants looked a bit pitful. They have a nice reptile house and a nice butterfly garden.
Altogether it made for a nice half day attraction and with admission under $9 for adults and $5 for children, with free parking, it was very worthwhile.
