Sad though it seems we had to make a claim on our home insurance we had a small leak (i.e. a pin prink the ash felt) in our roof and this caused the plaster board in the bed room ceiling to fall the hole was all of 6x12 ". Having had to pay for our own repair to the roof apparently we never had this covered, we felt confident that M&S would be paying for the bedroom ceiling repair, after all they advised us to get the roof covered in tar pooling to prevent further damage as this could affect our insurance claim. Having waited for a week along comes the AVIVA assessor to check the hole and what do you think he said - no we are not covered as we don't have accidental insurance and this is an inverted drip.....WELL have you ever heard such a thing, the only satisfaction was that my insurance it due and it will not be renewed with them and yes this time I'm going for accidental house cover. Wouldn't mind we've lived in the house for 13 years and never even made a claim so we felt really let down and believe me the insurance was not cheap to start with . Now I wound not ever use M&S or AVIVA- well maybe for the odd food shop but that's what they're good at after all.
