Good Points
Cruising the Nile on the Lady Mary and watching the World go by.
Crew polite and courteous. They even have a sense of humour.
Cabins reasonable, bathrooms clean and modern.
Guided tours to the Temples well managed.
Company great.
The Balloon ride is an excellent way to view the Valley of the Kings and the local population.

Bad Points
Food boring and repetitive. Typically English style, no local ethnic food served on the boat.
There appeared to be better boats and worse boats. We were somewhere in the middle.
We arose one morning at 2.30am to go to Abu Simbel.
Upper deck needs new carpets and chairs. A little tatty.
The days spent (approx. 3) in Luxor docked alongside a dozen other Nile boats all belching diesel generator fumes. Not the healthiest place to be.

General Comments
7 out of our party of 8 had stomach problems that lasted a few days and in some cases persisted after the trip. It did not completely spoil the trip but didn't improve it.

Monarch Air seating arrangements only good for circus midgets and Lilliputians. Uncomfortable flight.

Flight attendants typically British and bossy.

They charge extra for an exit row or bulkhead seats! Is that a European practice or just Monarch?
