Good Points
Very light and nicely designed. Gets up to walls and under beds well (but not so good in corners). Picks up objects surprisingly well, (but threads on carpet are not easily picked up, or are picked up and put down again somewhere else.) An improvement on the old heavy Ewbank carpet sweepers I remember when I was young
Bad Points
It has totally Rubbish battery technology - what were Gtech thinking of! No "fully charged" light, or indication of charge remaining. It's sadly lacking!
The duster that came with it gets in the way all the time because the clip doesn't hold it properly.
It only removes objects from the surface of the carpet - its no good for removing a pile of dust from carpet - it just spreads it out. Hairs get wound around the rotor and the corner brush. Difficult to steer on carpets.
General Comments
When my wife persuaded me to buy one of these G-Tech SW01 Cordless Electronic Sweepers and I saw the word "NiCad" I thought immediately that I would be in loads of trouble. We have now had it for several years, given it regular but infrequent light use in bedroom only, and this month, sure enough, the battery is dead. Last month I could get 6-7 mins of use from an overnight charge, today, 1-2 minutes if I'm lucky. It won't hold charge for more than an hour or so. It won't break the bank to get a new batt-pack - £20 inc postage, but this is 2/3 the price of the original sweeper complete, so someone is ripping me off as usual. In use, it is drawing about 4amps, so I guess I could run it off a 6v car battery charger if I made a long lead, and forget the battery completely.
