Good Points
Looks good on your worktop, as long as you don't care much for a decent cup of coffee!
Bad Points
Didn't like the taste of the coffee from this type of coffee maker. It was weak, wishy washy and soapy. It was bought at Christmas 2005 and it has now jammed, we cannot get it opened, it's going straight back!
General Comments
This Philips HD7810/60 Senseo Coffee Machine was bought as a Christmas present, but the top hinged part has ceased up after only 4 weeks of use!
I didn't like the wishy washy, almost sudsy taste that is produced by this type of coffee maker. Having always used a filter machine and a cafetiere, the Senseo makes a completely different taste and I just didn't like the flavour. So the top part seizing up was the last straw! We are going to take it back to where it was purchased. The manual says that sometimes a vacuum can build up within the top part that holds the pods, but to leave it for 24 hours in the hope that the problem will rectify itself. But this hasn't happened, we cannot get the top section to lift up and don't want to force it.
In hindsight, it's a nice idea and it looks trendy on the kitchen worktop, but that's no use if you don't get a decent cup of coffee to kick-start your day. So, I am now back with my trusty cafetiere and thoroughly enjoying my coffee again!
One last point, I tried contacting the Customer Service Department at Philips, via e-mail, but nobody has even bothered to get back to me.
All in all, I'm not at all happy with this item.
