This is of of the very best amps to experience true Fender tone. I use it with my American Strat, and tone is smooth and warm. As I don't have any complaints about it, I did not need to mod it, however it is possible to change the stock speaker with a better one like Celestion or Jensen for a louder volume. Drawbacks for me is not to have an effects loopback or a seperate output, but I can live with that and these still do not change my mind about how great this amp sounds. I use it with a tube screamer for blues/rock, and I highly recommend this amp for rehearsals and small gigs.
