Absolutely pathetic! I would advise people to avoid VM at all costs. Since about November 2010, our connection sits at about 1-2MB during off peak hours then drops to about 0.01 as soon as it gets to 4pm! This is based on us apparently getting a speed of 8MB. Apparently a speed of 0.04MB is considered 'acceptable' for an 8MB line as well....
If you don't use the internet for anything other than Facebook, then help yourself. If you fancy trying iPlayer or gaming, don't waste your time. Ringing their service line achieves nothing other than 'have you checked your filters?' and no one ever seems to have any suggestions past that it's your modem/line/pc when it's neither of those things. Currently, there's a 49 page thread on their support forums about their latency issues in gaming, with no real response about what the problem is or when it is likely to be fixed. All blame seems to be passed onto the customer end, but when there's this amount of complaints, I find that hard to believe. Then just to make it worse, if you want to leave them, they want the whole contract amount of fees, despite not actually providing the service they offer you. It is the worst ISP I have ever used.
