Good Points
Superb performance with excellent economy and high standard specification. Great value for money. VW build quality and reliablility. Understated but purposeful design. A practical 5 door hot hatchback that is a joy to own, drive and generally live with. It doesn't cost a lot to insure or run either. Excellent 3 year new car warranty.
Bad Points
No optional leather interior or tiptronic gearbox available in the UK, but they had to leave something for VW and Audi to offer.
General Comments
The Skoda Fabia a truly brilliant car. Much bigger in character inside than it would appear, it performs on all fronts being quick (particularly mid-range) yet frugal (50+mpg easily achievable) and supremely confortable. In short it is the 'rational consumers' choice having 5 doors, ABS disc brakes all round, aircon, sports seats and RDS CD radio and being very easy on the pocket whilst always providing a smile. The torque from the diesel engine makes this car a pleasure to drive in the real world, effortlessly provding the grunt to charge up hills or squirt past slower vehicles safely.
