Good Points
Compact, easy to use, clear speech, and a must for anybody who has no sense of direction!

Bad Points
Sometimes takes a few minutes to pick up the satellite. Instruction manual a bit naff!

TomTom Go Satellite Navigation




I bought a TomTom Go 300 because I have no sense of direction, and thought this would give me more confidence.


I must say I am incredibly pleased with it so far. I have tried it out locally and the directions are spot on, and it has actually taken me to roads I never knew even existed!


I work in London, and this is the prime reason I wanted this gadget. What with so many road closures etc...


When using it in London, I found that some instructions were very confusing, but this is mainly due to some very complicated road junctions. If I hadn't some idea where I was going, I would have got completely lost!


I have also tried to "confuse" the TomTom by taking a different turning to the one it tells me, and it quickly re-routes me accurately.


One drawback I have found, is when I put the TomTom in my car, it can take a good few minutes to pick up any satellite. This can be very frustrating if you need to drive off straightaway. I haven't any fancy windscreens, and this happens with both our cars (Corsa & Astra).


Regarding the instruction manual whilst the TomTom is mainly common sense to use, I still don't know how long you are supposed to charge the TomTom on a mains adapter. If there is anybody out there who does know, please let me know!!


The two English voices which are supplied are very clear, and you have the option to download more voices (you need to pay for them though).


All in all, a fantastic gadget, especially for those of us with a bad sense of direction!
